Service Description

Teaching children with disabilities to move can be difficult if they don't have the orientation skills and postural strength to locomote. This workshop focuses on establishing different physical equilibria and oscillatory flow techniques to prepare a child to move. Participants will learn how to safely place and support a child in various equilibrium positions (sitting, four-point, standing) while introducing simple oscillation techniques to stimulate and engage muscles. These preparatory techniques are essential for children who have not had much weight-bearing experience in life. To serve international students, this online course is available at two different time slots: Morning — 8:30am - 11:30am EST (GMT-5) Evening — 6:00pm - 9:00pm EST (GMT-5) Please check your own timezone to choose the best slot for you! *After the workshop, participants will have access to an online resource (including sample lesson plans, tips and teaching aids) and a community forum to creatively maintain their disability interventions.
